Bird Tour
of the Texas Coastal Bend

  Sample Itinerary

Jennifer Grande from Gowanda, New York was a 2017 Texas Tour participant.  She summed up her experience by saying, "I had a fantastic time in Texas. Gene was great, a veritable fountain of knowledge. I saw 134 species, 92 of which were new to me, and came away with a new appreciation for and interest in shorebirds."

For Birders this tour offers the most complete introduction available to the richest bird area in North America in the company of the most experienced guides.  The tentative itinerary is shown below, along with notable bird species we are likely to see at each locality.  Note that because of the small size of our tours, we can be flexible.   Gene and John are willing to work with participants to get to the places necessary to give them the best chance to see the  birds they really want to see. We also encourage  Birders to review the checklist of South Texas Birds, and correspond with us beforehand regarding the species that they would especially like to see.
